Universo Tequila is a tasting room and tequila shop. The most complete collection you will find. They arrange for private tastings. You and your guests will get an overview on the tequila cultivation/making process, history and of course a wonderful tasting with light bites to accompany the process. When shopping for tequila, this is a great place to go because unlike a regular store, you can consult with a knowledgeable staff who will point you in the right direction, to match your tastes. They also hold sip & paint art classes which will appear on our calendar and tours to different tequila distilleries in jalisco. Estramancia winery is located directly across the lake from Ajijic, arrange for a boat ride or have a driver take your group. El Tejon winery is a gorgeous location. They also operate with reservations of small groups, check with them for details. Included is a tour of the vineyard, a gourmet dinner outdoors with a very generous tasting (endless pouring) and live music. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon and into the evening. Be sure to arrange for a private driver as the location is a little hard to find and you will be tipsy! It is located in San Luis Soyatlán, about 1 hour by car, located directly across from Ajijic. Tahawi and Mandala Hotels. They are sister properties located across from each other. Stop by for a tour! You will feel as if you are on a vacation far, far away! They offer spa treatments and have a restaurant on site. There are many wonderful spas in our area but we are sharing this with our members, because it is an opportunity for a fabulous "stay-cation" a true experience.
